#Quickcam for notebooks pro installInstall latest QuickCam software that’s available for download – I used Windows Vista Multilingual 32-bit QuickCam v11.1 download. #Quickcam for notebooks pro proHere is a workaround that enabled me to get my QuickCam for Notebooks Pro running under Windows 7 x32.ġ. That logic is rather poor (and not becoming of a company that uses ‘Logi’ as part of its name) as it seems a customer upset by lack of support for products they already own would not come back and buy another product.Īnyway. The best thing I can come up with for this turn of events is that Logitech wants you to buy a new camera. Support Forums included many frustrated Logitech customers battling the same issue, and a nice message from Logitech indicating that the camera will not be supported. Many threats of incompatibility later, I had everything installed but webcam still not recognized. I thought I’d wing it, and try the Vista version. #Quickcam for notebooks pro driversI plugged the camera in and was surprised to find that no drivers were available for it and the webcam showed up as “Unknown Device” I went to the Logitech site and was again surprised to see that Windows 7 was not a choice for available OS for my webcam. I had a spare QuickCam for Notebooks Pro laying around, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. Great video Xavier, that covered pretty much everything I wanted to know!I was setting up a make-shift security system in my house and wanted to use one of my laptops as the point of capture. So far I have been blown away with logitech hardware, they seriously are awesome… The only thing I think needs a little bit of work on is the software that comes with your product, they need a clearer GUI and something that loads fast and is flexible with options, don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of things you can do with Logitech’s hardware but I have found that if you have one setting turned on, you lack another… For example, when I turn RightLight on, it might sacrifice some frame rate, though it’s funny because sometimes it gains in frame rate… Weird for basic users to understand. I like the idea of the stand, if only it were adjustable. I guess for calling somebody on skype it would be reasonable though. ![]() The only thing I am worried about is the audio quality on the mic in the camera (at least, I think I could see one) the current one I have I believe is about 22Khz, possibly less, not quite sure but it isn’t the best. I actually have the desktop version, of the quick cam pro 9000, it is the BEST webcam I have EVER seen, I wouldn’t have a doubt in my mind that this wouldn’t be worth $99. The QuickCam Pro for Notebooks will retail for $99 at most major electronics retailers. Logitech packs a lot of features, accessories and quality into this package. This is something that built-in webcams don’t have and one reason to take a look at this camera even if you already have a buil-in webcam on your notebook. Logitech’s RightLight technology improves image quality in low-light environments or when there’s strong backlighting. There are lots of fun things you can do with Fun Filters and Avatars (see video above), but one of the best features is RightLight. There’s also a stand to elevate the camera to face level and so users have more flexibility in where they position the camera. ![]() The Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks comes with a carrying case and headset so you can keep your video chats private when you’re out and about. The photo of the crayons below is an example of the potential of this camera. Users can record high-def video for computer playback or capture 8MP (interpolated) still images. Logitech’s teamed up with Carl Zeiss to deliver a glass lens, capable of delivering 2MP images and 1.3 megapixel video. The most important part of any camera is the lens and webcams are no exception. I sat down with Stan Kwong of Logitech for a demo and was very impressed with what he showed me. Images are very sharp and clear, and Logitech’s software is fun and easy to use. The new QuickCam is capable of recording high-def (720P) video and has several premium features, that make it an excellent deal at $99. Logitech just unleashed its latest webcams, including the QuickCam Pro for Notebooks. ![]()
